The Punchbuggy Tour

To promote Monsters, I went on a two-week van tour through the northeast part of the States with fellow cartoonists Liz Baillie and MK Reed. The tour itinerary went something like this:

  • Sept. 24 – Brooklyn, NY @ Desert Island
  • Sept. 25th – 7pm – Baltimore, MD @ Atomic Books (with John Porcellino, Peter Kuper and a bunch of other great cartoonists)
  • Sept. 26-27 – Bethesda, MD @ the Small Press Expo
  • Sept. 29 – Durham, NC @ Duke University (Rob Clough put Liz, MK & I on a comics panel on women, gender, and comics)
  • Sept. 30 – 5:30pm – Asheville, NC @ Downtown Books and News
  • Oct. 2 – 5pm – Louisville, KY @ Ray’s Monkey House
  • Oct. 3 – Bloomington, IN @ Boxcar Books
  • Oct. 5 – 7pm – Chicago, IL @ Quimby’s Bookstore
  • Oct. 6 – 7:30pm – Ann Arbor, MI @ Vault of Midnight (w/ Ryan Claytor)
  • Oct. 8 – Allentown, PA @ Muhlenberg College
  • Oct. 9 – Philadelphia, PA @ Wooden Shoe Books (w/ Sally Bloodbath)
  • Oct. 10 – a day in Asbury Park, NJ – no reading booked, but we went to the pinball museum and the Clam N Jam
  • Oct. 11 – 5pm – Brooklyn, NY @ Bergen Street Comics

That went so well, we did another one. It went something like this:

  • Friday March 19 @ 7pm – White River Junction, VT @ the Center for Cartoon Studies
  • Tuesday, March 23 @7pm – Amherst, MA @ Hampshire College (West Lecture Hall)
  • Wednesday, March 24 @ 7pm – Providence, RI @ Ada Books
  • Thursday, March 25 @ 7pm – Somerville, MA @ Hub Comics
  • Friday, March 26 @ 7:30pm – Montreal, Quebec @ the Drawn & Quarterly Store
  • Monday, March 29 – Rochester, NY @ Monroe Community College (classroom presentation, students only)

We always seem to have a fine time on tour, and sell a batch of comics as well. I think we’re still updating the official tour blog, if you want a little multimedia about what went down. We’re already tentatively planning a West Coast tour in the Fall, so if you want us to come to your town drop a line: fantods [at] gmail [dot] com
